Meet BreAnna Borah

Artist, Author & Founder of Picturesque Impressions

The Journey

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent hours drawing and painting — creating worlds filled with color and imagination. Art became my sanctuary, a place of expression and freedom. Still, I never believed becoming a professional artist was possible.

In 2020, during the global pandemic, I returned to painting. What began as rediscovering a childhood passion slowly transformed into purpose. After months of creating, I realized my work could inspire others and bring beauty into everyday spaces.

I have always been drawn to Impressionism — the movement that transformed the art world through light, color, and expressive brushwork. Inspired by masters like Monet, Pissarro, and Cassatt, I create vibrant, emotionally evocative paintings that capture movement, atmosphere, and joy. My goal is simple: to create artwork that makes people feel something.

From Savannah to the Rockies

I was born and raised in historic Savannah, Georgia. In 2014, I moved to Colorado, where the vast landscapes and mountain light deeply influenced my creative perspective.

Before launching my business, I studied early childhood education and earned my associate's degree from Pikes Peak Community College. As a preschool teacher, I witnessed firsthand the powerful role books play in shaping young minds. Reading to my students sparked something in me — a desire to combine illustration and storytelling to create meaningful, heart-centered children's books.

In 2022, I founded Picturesque Impressions, and in 2025, I stepped into my own operational art studio — a dream realized after years of painting in my kitchen. That space represents growth, faith, and perseverance.

Artistic Philosophy

'Happy are those who see beauty in humble places where others see nothing.'
— Camille Pissarro

Nature is my greatest inspiration. I believe beauty can be found everywhere — in light across a field, in color layered across sky, in everyday moments often overlooked. Through bold brushstrokes and layered color, I aim to capture wonder and translate it into work that uplifts and inspires.

The Creative Process

I primarily work in oil and acrylic on canvas, building layers of color to create depth, movement, and luminosity. Each painting is thoughtfully composed to evoke emotion and bring warmth into homes, offices, and gathering spaces.

Dual Passions: Art & Storytelling

BreAnna Borah with her children's books

Picturesque Impressions is a dual-focused creative studio.

On one side, I create Impressionism-inspired fine art — original paintings, commissions, and art-forward products that celebrate color and light.

On the other, I write and illustrate children's books designed to nurture emotional intelligence, communication skills, and kindness. Inspired by creators like Theodor Seuss Geisel and Eric Carle, my stories aim to leave a lasting imprint on young hearts.

Art and storytelling have always been intertwined in my life. As a child, I dreamed of becoming both an artist and an author. Today, I am honored to live that dream — creating work that brings joy to adults and meaningful lessons to children.

Beyond the studio, I love connecting with the community through author visits, art shows, and educational events. Whether reading to children in classrooms or displaying my work at local venues, sharing creativity with others brings me immense joy.
